In 2016, community based projects within Slope Electric’s service area were eligible to apply for grants. The grants could be up to $2,000. These funds were awarded by RDFC in order to draw awareness to their much larger loan program. This loan program funds community based projects and non-profit entities with low interest loans.
The RDFC is pleased to announce it has approved a 2018 grant allotment of $2,000 per member-cooperative to be used to support community owned entities, non-profits and community-based projects.
Eligible projects: community owned businesses (café, grocery store, motel, other); community facilities (such as ambulance services, fire districts, recreation, hospital/clinic, community center, ect.); or community-based projects (such as school/youth projects, other) that benefit rural areas.
Maximum/minimum grant amounts: The minimum grant amount is $500; the maximum is $2,000. The limit is $2,000 per member cooperative for 2018.
Deadline: December 31, 2018
